Childhood is traditionally depicted as a magical time, full of innocence. As we get older and look back, some memories are crystal clear while others are lost altogether. Unpleasant times may be blocked out to preserve our peaceful reflection while certain images ring as fresh as if it were yesterday. At Halloween we could don our masks and escape our day-to-day life, pretending to be whoever - or wherever - we wanted to be.
